Mexico General Assembly Policy Statement

We the nation of Mexico, have attempted to exemplify our presence in the international community by being one of the first countries to join the United Nations in 1945. Since then, we have actively shown our support for the United Nations and have actively contributed to the well being of the people of this planet. We will continue to uphold our standard of support and commitment to the United Nations as we seek to reach a solution that is in the best interests of the international community regarding the following issues.

The nation of Mexico is concerned with the issue of kidnapping for ransom in the international community and is interested in working to address the major problems. We as a nation are concerned by the stunningly high occurrences of international kidnapping and wish to ensure a more successful law enforcement system in the future. This is primarily a domestic affair, however we believe that the best way to address it on a global scale is to create the International Hostage Negotiation Security Council (IHNSC). The IHNSC would organize a combination of money pooling, which would be used to pay ransoms and aid in countries that are dealing with kidnapping. Mexico has constant kidnappings due to the various drug cartels infesting our country. This has stretched our police force and our economy thin. We like many countries need the help of others nations to deal with these problems. We look forward to working with the various delegations on this issue to make sure that we reach a solution that is beneficial to us all.

The nation of Mexico is concerned with the immigration issues and the rights of guest workers as the pertain to Europe. Our nation is constantly facing immigration both to and from our country, from which we have obtained crucial knowledge regarding this topic, which will be vital to achieving a solution that addresses both the direct impacts and root causes of this issue. While we sympathize for the nations that are adversely affected by this issue, we believe that the most effective course of action could determined by the Global Immigration Resolution Committee (GIRC). The GIRC will work with countries who are fueling immigration. such as Mexico and Middle Eastern countries whose work force has immigrated to areas such as United States and Europe, by aiding struggling countries' economies to attract and keep workers in their native countries. Through these essential and achievable steps, the issues of immigration and the rights of guest workers would be addressed in Europe, and such steps could be easily and effectively adapted to solve these issues that are present in other locations worldwide.

The nation of Mexico recognizes, and is concerned with, the issue of human trafficking and abusive work conditions of immigrant women in the Middle East and elsewhere. While we realize that we as a nation have issues with maltreatment of migrant workers and kidnapping due to the drug cartels in our country, we ask that other countries recognize that not all countries have the ability and resources to make work conditions ideal, although this is our goal, it is not realist to expect this to occur overnight. However, the speed at which these improvements would occur would exponentially faster with the help of the Human Rights Council and the International Labour Organization (ILO), who will help struggling countries with creating human right laws. We believe that the best course of action is to target human trafficking organizations as well as individuals instead of imposing ineffective sanctions that only hinder countries that are already doing their best to solve this issue. Pertaining to the abusive conditions of immigrant women, if it is deemed questionable that a country is not doing it upmost to improve them, then whoever is deemed responsible will be brought before the International Court of Justice.

The world we live in is faced with many problems. It is up to the various nations of the world to step up and face these issues. We can't take our beautiful planet for granted. We must come together and hear the ideas of everyone in order to bring about a brighter, more secure future. The United Mexican States greatly looks forward to working with all the countries of The United Nations to solve the problems at hand and unite for the greater good of the people of the Earth.
