Peru Policy GA

PERU
The delegation of Peru wishes to thank the General Assembly for its attendance today in order to properly respond to the trying events that are occurring in our world today. We are thankful to all nations involved for their willingness to cooperate and solve the problems that humanity in faced with. We look forward to the opening of discussion towards the basic rights of human beings, especially those in foreign lands.

The nation of Peru feels that the kidnapping epidemic taking place globally must be resolved. Taking precedence above all regions is the rampant chaos in Latin America. We feel that the situation, unable to remain under control by national authorities, must be put in the hands of a new United Nations Panel on International Ransom and Kidnapping. This panel would not only outline courses of action for member parties’ embassies in nations plagued by this issue, but would also compile documents pertinent to these crimes and would prosecute perpetrators pertinently.

The Republic of Peru holds that the immigration problems within the European continent, especially with those pertaining to human rights and citizenship, must be properly addressed in order to ensure security within these states. We feel that European nations should enlist a series of guidelines entailing a partial citizenship status for those who are neither full residents nor retaining home nation ties.

The delegation of Peru believes that the topic of International Human Trafficking, especially in terms of forced commercial sexual exploitation, must be addressed in these chambers. We are not only troubled by the extent of these international crimes, but are also devastated by the proliferation of this act within the borders of our own nation. We encourage that General Assembly members hold fast to UN protocols addressing the prevention and punishment for such crimes. In addition, we sense it necessary to elevate the status of human trafficking to a crime against humanity, punishable by the International Court of Justice.

In conclusion, the nation of Peru finds that our efforts in this conference will help lead to a greater and more understanding global community. We greatly appreciate the presence of such delegations and hope that through the venue of the United Nations, we may all come together for future generations. We thank you for this multilateral exchange and for your steadfast cooperation. From the honorable Republic of Peru; gracias.
