DPRK- NORTH KOREA
Within the past century, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea has been less-than-involved in the international arena. However, we seek to become more involved in this current United Nations session. We look forward to working with each nation in order to create working legislation that will benefit the international community as a whole.
On that note, North Korea will address the first item of business: kidnapping for ransom on an international scale. North Korea is offering a very unique resolution to the General Assembly gathered here today. In order to combat the rising number of kidnappings, North Korea proposes to create a United Nations-backed international police force. Currently, the United Nations possesses no international police force that holds the ability to regulate kidnapping on an international scale. With the creation of the United Nations Police Organization, the UN will finally be able to fight international kidnappings. This organization will have the power to perform investigations in each UN-member state. However, should any individual state view the investigative methods as improper and/or impeding upon their sovereignties, the state will be able to appeal the investigative decisions to the United Nations Police Organization Appeals Committee. This committee will fairly and decisively act upon any appeals decisions. With the creation of this new United Nations organization, the UN will finally be able to properly address kidnappings on an international scale.
Regarding immigration and guest worker problems, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea proposes the United Nations abstain from any actions that impede upon nation’s sovereignty. Thus, no multilateral actions should be taken, as they will ultimately lead to an infringement on individual sovereignties. Overall, no propositions should be seriously considered regarding this issue.
Much like the previous topic, North Korea proposes no United Nations decisive action regarding human trafficking and foreign workers’ rights. The primary reason for this proposition is the topic’s mention of specific rights that can only be addressed by domestic governments. Therefore, the United Nations shall make no stroke that addresses this issue as any decisions will most likely impede upon individual sovereignties.
All in all, North Korea looks forward to working with all member states in resolving the issues presented before us.
